Zarni Ye Myint was born in 1973 in Monywar in Sagaing. He studied watercolor technique under U Lu Tin, U Aung Maung, and other artists of Chindwinyaykyi watercolour group.

He moved to Yangon in 1993 when he completed 10th grade as he wanted to study arts. He studied painting under U Soe Tint, U Than Kywe, U Win Tint, U Thet Oo at Yangon State School of Fine Arts in 1997-1999. He studied design from U Kyaw Kyaw Tin. He also taught drawing at a few government schools as a guest teacher even before he went to the Yangon State School of Fine Arts.

He has been working with MRTV of Ministry of Information as an indoor permanent studio artist for setting designs as since 1999. He has done 4 solo exhibits and participated in more than 30 groups locally and internationally.

Watercolor on paper is his favorite medium as they make his heart more satisfied than other mediums although he creates art with other mediums. And also watercolor is the first medium he studied under Chindwinyaykyi watercolour group artists in upper Myanmar. He also did illustrations and comics for Manizota and Seinthamani religious magazines.

He had a great exposure for art since he was a kid as his grandfather is also an artist who always paints and decorates his house with his own art. His dad has been a great support to him since he was a kid and took him to Mandalay and Yangon from his native town-Monywar for art contest he wanted to compete.

He is living in Yangon with his family creating more arts. He loves reading and listening to music apart from painting. “I feel very fortunate that I can live life creating arts and making living through arts. Art is the only thing I make living throughout my life” said Zarny Ye Myint.

He is one of the artists who got participated in the “Poetry of Brush and Ink”, Taiwan-Myanmar Art and Culture Exchange Exhibition that held at the Nawaday Tharlar Gallery in 2018, Yangon. His collection can be seen at Nawaday Tharlar Gallery.
